  Health, Safety & Environment

Creeburn Lake Lodge is committed to the safety of our guests and staff, and ensures that public safety is paramount.

This commitment is displayed through the development and implementation of necessary and critical risk interventions. Our camp dormitories and general areas are equipped with fire suppression systems that include: fire suppression/sprinkler system; pyrotronic notification panel; fire separation barriers between housing and dining facilities and public access fire extinguishers. In addition, we have trained our staff on evacuation and fire protection procedures.

In regards to medical injuries and emergencies at Creeburn Lake Lodge the facilities include the following:

• multiple first aid kits located throughout our facilities with trained personnel to safely perform initial medical treatment during a medical situation;

• 24-hour medical service;

• a full service first aid room stretcher and oxygen;

• mutual aid agreements with our surrounding clients regarding the assistance of ambulatory and fire service in the event of an emergency;

• 24-hour security service that can respond to medical and other emergencies or situations.

To increase our protection of the public, the faculties have mandatory rules, such as: no smoking in rooms, no open flame in rooms (e.g. candles), and various other administrative controls to protect our customers and assets.

Creeburn Lake Lodge along with its rigorous health and safety program is also committed to the environmental preservation of the Wood Buffalo area and has maintained the integrity of the area through the construction and operation of the lodge.

The surrounding area of Creeburn Lake Lodge has been landscaped which includes deciduous trees planted, sod laid to provide green space for the clients and hydro seeding the area to prevent erosion and silt run off from the banks that envelop the lodge.

North of the lodge a storm water collection pond was constructed which controls all discharge such as rain water and snow melt water from the complete site, all  ditches surrounding the site are directed to the storm pond, thus preventing any silt from reaching the river and upsetting the natural habitat.
Creeburn Lake Lodge is always looking for ways to preserve and maintain the beauty of the area as well as making those day to day changes such as installing energy efficient light bulbs throughout the lodge and recycling cardboard and cans when possible.
