  Fort McKay First Nation

Fort McKay Group of Companies provided construction services for Creeburn Lake Lodge. The Group produces high quality products, with a focus on cost-competitive products and services.

In 1986, the Fort McKay Group of Companies was established, which is fully owned and operated by the community and Fort McKay First Nation. The Group serves a number of corporate clients in northeastern Alberta: from the oil sands, pipelines and forestry industries to the public sector. In addition to this, Fort McKay First Nation has also established numerous joint venture companies.

The Fort McKay First Nation is a signatory to Treaty 8 and belongs to the Athabasca Tribal Council. Fort McKay is considered one of the most progressive First Nations in Canada, and has established a wide range of oil industry-based companies that provide employment opportunities and revenue for the community.

Because of its geographic location, Fort McKay has had many opportunities to work with several oilsands industries by developing its own companies. Fort McKay has capitalized on these opportunities and has participated in the regional economy to create sustainable, long-term growth and development for their community.
